Gorgeous Ann Marie Blyth wowed Broadway audiences with her voice and acting chops before being hired by Universal. She appeared in musicals until Warner Brothers cast her in a more serious role in Mildred Pierce. It went so well that a whole new range of opportunities opened for Blyth. Her career continued to be highly successful, both on screen and on stage. After marriage, she spent more time with her family but didn’t retire until 1985.
